Often you see me writing about my girlfriends and what a vital part of my life they are, not so often do you get to hear about my guy friends. While just as important to me I don't get a chance to hang out with them as much. Long before Jim and Jack became my guys these were the guys in my life.
These guys are really the people I grew up with and the people I can look at and say they knew me when. They are the ones who have been there through it all with me and who share some of my most cherished memories. I have known since at least high school and one I have known since I was 5 years old (that's 27 years) I don't really know how it happened or really why but with them I am just one of the guys...always have been, always will be. Because of this, whenever one of them gets married I get to attend the Bachelor party. This time its for Mark's upcoming wedding. He is not getting married till December but golf is a little hard to play in the snow.
Friday night we had our annual NFL draft at Jen and Jeremy's house where we all picked our teams and hung out and had a few drinks. (Sidebar:Tom Brady better not get hurt this year).
The next day we all met at Qualchan Golf Course for a little best ball tourney. Being the new mom that I am I was late trying to get a babysitter and then I got lost but I made it to the first tee and was playing with Mark, Scott and Noah. We had a great time and it was a beautiful day. I even played halfway decent.
(Sidebar #2: I've decided best ball is the most fun way for me to play golf. I am not nearly good enough for a full 18 holes.) Mark and Scott really carried our team while Noah and I kinda just hung out, had a few drinks and hit the golf ball when we were told.
After handing out prizes (I did not win) we all headed back to Drew's house for some more fun, and games, and food. I swear I laugh harder with these guys than with anyone else I know. We cooked up burgers, played some ladder golf (I lost again) and then the boys started in on beer pong. Unfortunately I had to leave early to go to work before things got real out of hand. Also I had to bring Jack home to go to sleep. Did I forget to mention I brought a baby to a bachelor party?!? mmmhmm I did... Mom of the year I tell ya :)
