Our last day in San Fran, Jim, Matt, Jenah, and I decided to head out and see what the city had to offer. Well actually our only real agenda item was nursing the hangover and heading to Alcatraz; the rest was just a random adventure if you will.
First things first: Alcatraz!
Once docked back at the pier we walked along the wharf and then headed away from all the crazies to find sustenance; aka alcohol. While consuming some adult beverages we discovered we were not far from the crookedest road in the world so we hopped in the car and decided to take a drive down Lombard Street.
After that we figured we may as well keep the tourism tour going and we headed to the golden gate bridge. Our plan was to stop before we headed across it but we missed the turn off and we were on our way to Saucalito. Oops, my bad! It turned out this was actually not bad because by that time the fog had rolled in and we would not have been able to see the dang thing had we just pulled off at the golden gate park. We crossed the bridge then pulled off on the other side to turn around, pay the toll (Sorry Jim), and headed back to the city. Mark the Golden Gate off the bucket list...now what?
After some googling and mapquesting we arrived at our next destination...the FULL HOUSE house! Matt could not get over the fact that this was an actual tourist stop. Once we pulled up and were trying to figure out which house it was we noticed others taking pictures too. We put two and two together and realized we were in the right spot. Jim parked (illegally) and Matt and I jumped out for a quick pic. I was uber excited, Matt was laughing hysterically at me, and Jim was stressing about his park job. Check another item off the list and lets get out of here!
At this point Jim was in desperate need of some libations, Matt was getting hangry (angry and hungry) and Jenah and I were revelling in our new found day, 4/22 ;) We conferred with Jeff on a dinner timeline and discovered we still had some time to kill. With no one else offering up agenda items we decided our best bet was to take a break from the tourism, find a local establishment, get a snack and chill. Not much was said during this break but the unspoken was clear. We were tired pups. We then decided to head in the general direction of where dinner was going to be, so we got back in the car, headed for the wharf, and found parking. Jeff met us not too long later and we had such a good dinner at this Italian seafoody type place.
After dinner Jeff took us to see his condo that is currently under construction. One word-WOW! its going to be amazing and I cant wait to visit it again soon. After saying our goodbyes to Jeff it was back in the car and on to the hotel for some much needed sleep before our early flight the next morning! But alas, I did not take any pics of the progress so far-sorry!
And thus, a perfect vacation must come to an end :( Hopefully we can do it again soon!Like I said in my very first post about this trip I love all of these people tremendously and am blessed to have them in my life and to be able to call them my friends!
